At the Trull Jubilee Party in the Park on 4 June we were
delighted to welcome a constant stream of visitors to our
Trull Meadow stand, with much interest being shown in
our progress. Over 50 visitors purchased the little three-
acorn brooches created from the fallen oak tree. Also
popular were bowls and cruet sets, also made out of oak
from the fallen tree, which were snapped up to adorn local
sideboards, and the photo caption competition run by The
Friends of Trull Meadow.
Much of the fallen tree has gone to villagers as firewood
and we greatly welcomed the contributions this generated
for our funds. The main body of the trunk remains and
has now been moved to a position beside the Meadow
fence. We are very grateful to the owner of Sunningdale,
who was willing to have one of the large machines on his
site diverted to help us achieve this, making light work of
what would otherwise have been an impossible task for
mere humans! Thank you Colin and Anthony for your
generous assistance.
Those readers who came to our wonderful Dog Show in
2021 will be pleased to know that another is planned by
Mandy for SATURDAY, 14 AUGUST, so do diary the date
and come along with your four-legged friends! The (two
legged) Friends are planning further working parties in the
Meadow and we’ll keep you posted on this – all help is
much appreciated!
And finally the usual reminder that we still very much need
funds to repay the generous loans made to enable
purchase of the Meadow. We now have a significant
number of monthly donors and we thank those who
support us anonymously via JustGiving. To donate via this
website, go to the Donate page to find out how, where you
will see that you can also now donate any unwanted
Nectar points to the Trust.
